I switched sites!

I thought it'd make more sense to have the temporary portfolio/sketchbook site to be the same name as my funny blog since I was planning on making the actual website robosuplex.com too. I also thought that monliandfriends was sorta an ambiguous domain. It could be read as monlia ndfriends or monliand friends or monli... what I'm getting as is everyone's going to know that robo and suplex are two different words, making it easier to remember.

So:

robosuplexart.blogspot.com

Pretty easy, huh? Once I get my site mapped out I'll purchase a domain and it'll be even easier!

Herbert's Head - Character Sketches

These are the character sketches for my children's book Herbert's Head! It's about a boy who doesn't really fit in with his family. They all can do fantastic tricks and perform together in a show but Herbert can only help with little things. One day, he loses his head, literally, when his mom accidentally miscasts her magic. The family tries to get it back but fails... so Herbert makes one! He becomes an inventor and everyone's happy!

Herbert before and after he becomes an inventor.
(the balloon is one of his Dad's failed attempts to fix his head)

His sister, an animal trainer, and all her animals.

Mom, a magician.

Dad, a clown.

I finish it next week!

Designs for a skateboard deck, shirt, hat and logo.

Depressed Robo

He might not really be depressed... It could be his face is just shaped that way.

Just a... dangly, floaty jelly-robot.

Toucan Cafe!

I did a kid's menu for the Toucan Cafe. Here's the character designs for the animals:
